Stadium Overview

Edgeley Park is a proper traditional town football ground with a strong identity. Stockport County have played there since 1902, and the stadium still feels rooted in the streets around Edgeley rather than separated from the town. It is close to Stockport railway station, close to local pubs and housing, and has the kind of uneven four-stand character that modern stadiums often lack.

The Cheadle End is the large home end and the main source of noise at Edgeley Park. The Danny Bergara Stand is the main stand side, named after the club's former manager, and contains many of the key club and hospitality areas. Opposite is the long side stand traditionally known as the Pop Side, while the Railway End sits behind the other goal and is commonly used for away supporters. The club has also been working through major stadium improvement and expansion plans, so parts of the ground have been changing and improving in recent seasons.

Edgeley Park is compact, atmospheric and close to the pitch. Facilities can vary between stands because of the age and phased development of the stadium, but that is part of the appeal. On a big matchday, with the Cheadle End full, it feels like one of the more intense and traditional grounds in League One.

Away End

Away supporter arrangements at Edgeley Park can vary depending on the size of the travelling support and the stadium operation for that fixture, but the Railway End is the stand most associated with away followings. It is behind one goal at the end closest to the railway side of the ground and has been used to house larger away followings.

The away approach is close to the station side of Edgeley Park, which is convenient for train travellers but can make the surrounding streets and turnstiles busy close to kick-off. Stockport County publish an away fan information pack for visiting supporters, and that should be checked before travelling because access routes, allocations and stadium work can affect arrangements.

The Railway End gives a proper behind-the-goal away view, though parts of the stand and facilities have a more traditional feel than a new-build stadium. For larger followings, expect tight queues and controlled movement around the ground after full-time.

Matchday Advice

Edgeley Park is one of the better League One grounds for train travel. Stockport railway station is within walking distance, and the route is manageable for most supporters. The ground is also close to local pubs, shops and the Edgeley district, giving it a proper town-ground feel rather than an out-of-town matchday.

Driving needs more planning. The stadium sits within residential streets and parking close to the ground is limited. Supporters should check Stockport County's latest travel and away fan information before travelling. The club also provides secure bicycle parking at the Vitality Railway End car park, available on a first-come basis.

For neutrals, the Cheadle End is the atmosphere stand, while the side stands give the better overall view. Arrive early for larger fixtures, especially while stadium expansion and improvement works are ongoing, because access routes and crowd movement can change.

Tickets

Stockport County sell tickets through the club's official ticketing channels. Demand at Edgeley Park can be strong, especially for bigger League One fixtures, so priority windows and advance purchase may matter. The Cheadle End is the key home atmosphere area, while the side stands give the clearer view for neutrals.

Away tickets are normally sold through the visiting club from the allocation provided by Stockport. Visiting supporters should check the away fan information pack and their own club's ticket news for the exact stand, turnstiles, collection point and whether the allocation is seated, standing or affected by stadium work.

Accessible tickets, companion tickets and any special requirements should be arranged in advance. Edgeley Park is traditional and compact, so do not rely on being able to change stand or ticket type on the day.

Stadium Rules

Edgeley Park operates standard EFL ground regulations. Supporters should expect ticket checks, stewarding and searches where required. Pyrotechnics, smoke bombs, offensive weapons, alcohol brought into the ground, discriminatory abuse, missile throwing and entering the playing area are prohibited.

Stockport's ticket terms require supporters to occupy the seat or area allocated and to comply with ground regulations. The club also warns against persistent standing in seated areas, misuse of tickets and behaviour likely to breach ground regulations.

Away supporters should use the visiting entrances and remain in the away allocation. Because Edgeley Park is built into residential streets and is undergoing phased improvement, supporters should follow current steward directions rather than relying on older routines.

Accessibility

Stockport County publish accessibility information for Edgeley Park and have a dedicated supporter liaison team. The club offers disabled and personal assistant tickets for supporters who meet the required criteria, and wheelchair platform spaces are limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Away disabled supporters should book through their own club and check the away fan information pack for the correct entrance, platform location and any stadium-work restrictions. Because Edgeley Park is an older ground with phased development, access routes and facilities can vary by stand.

Supporters who need assistance should contact Stockport County in advance rather than leaving it until matchday. The ground is close to the railway station, but the surrounding streets and matchday queues can still be challenging for some disabled supporters.

Stadium Tours

Stockport County offer official Edgeley Park stadium tours. The club advertises tours priced at £10 per person, with a maximum of 25 places available to keep the tour small and engaging. Tours give supporters a chance to explore the ground and learn more about County's history and matchday operation.

Tours run on advertised dates and should be booked through Stockport County's official channels. Because Edgeley Park is undergoing improvement and expansion work, the exact route may depend on stadium operations at the time.
