Hornchurch are based at Bridge Avenue and have risen through the Isthmian League structure to reach the National League. The Urchins have a strong east London and Essex-border identity, with a compact ground and a growing reputation after recent promotion success.
Hornchurch Stadium, on Bridge Avenue in Upminster, is a very different type of National League venue because it is a council-owned athletics and football stadium rather than a tight, purpose-built football ground. The running track and open layout mean spectators are generally further from the pitch than at more traditional non-league grounds.
The stadium has seated accommodation in the main stand areas, including the Rom Valley Glass & Glazing Stand, along with terracing around the ground, some of which is partially covered. The Riverside side is an important part of the matchday layout and is also the area the club advises away supporters to use for many non-segregated fixtures.
Because Hornchurch have moved into Step 1 football, the stadium is also in a period of change. The club have confirmed that redevelopment discussions are under way to meet National League ground grading requirements by March 2027. That means the matchday layout could develop during the season, so supporters should always check the latest club guidance.
Hornchurch fixtures are not normally segregated unless the club advertises otherwise. For ordinary non-segregated matches, away supporters are advised to use the away fan zone located on the Riverside of the ground.
For segregated fixtures, Hornchurch have used a more formal away allocation. Recent match guides have housed away supporters in the Rom Valley Glass & Glazing Stand seating and the adjacent partially covered terracing, with away entry via Abraham Court opposite The Windmill pub on Upminster Road. Allocations of around 600 have been used for some higher-profile matches.
This means away arrangements at Hornchurch are more fixture-specific than at many grounds. Visiting supporters should not assume the same entrance or stand every time. If the match is segregated, away fans should follow the club’s matchday guide carefully and use the advertised away entrance only.

Hornchurch Stadium is located in Upminster rather than central Hornchurch. Public transport is practical, with Upminster station the main rail and Underground option, followed by a walk to Bridge Avenue. Drivers should allow time for local residential streets near the ground.
Supporter parking at the stadium is very limited and, for recent fixtures, has been restricted to players and officials only unless a disabled parking space has been booked in advance. Street parking is available in surrounding roads such as Bridge Avenue and Brookdale Avenue, but supporters should expect traffic enforcement and must avoid parking across driveways or on double yellow lines.
For neutrals, the best option is usually seating in the main stand areas when available. Away supporters should check whether the fixture is segregated. For non-segregated matches, the Riverside away fan zone is advised; for segregated matches, the club may use a separate entrance and a specific away allocation.
Hornchurch tickets are sold through the club box office online, with digital QR-code tickets issued by email. Online sales normally close at midday for Saturday fixtures and 5pm for midweek matches, after which tickets may be available at the turnstiles by cash or card unless the match is all-ticket.
For segregated or high-demand fixtures, away ticket arrangements may be handled differently and away supporters may have to buy through their own club or a specific away allocation. The club has made clear for segregated matches that supporters found in the wrong section may be refused entry or removed without refund.
For home or neutral supporters, seating in the stand gives the most comfortable view, while terrace areas provide the more traditional experience. Away supporters should check the matchday guide before buying because normal non-segregated arrangements can change for bigger fixtures.
Hornchurch publish clear matchday rules. Prohibited items include alcohol, illegal substances, pyrotechnics, air horns, whistles, weapons, sharp objects and glass bottles.
Dogs are not permitted inside the stadium due to a council ruling. Assistance dogs are allowed, but only by prior arrangement with the club. Smoking is not permitted inside the stadium except in the specific permitted areas identified by the club.
Supporters should enter through the correct gate for the match. For segregated fixtures, anyone in the wrong section may be refused entry or removed. Large flags, banners, drums or other items should be checked with the club before travelling.
Hornchurch advise that disabled parking spaces must be booked in advance by emailing the club, and requests should be made no later than 24 hours before kick-off. General supporter parking at the stadium is not normally available.
Because the stadium is an athletics venue with a mixture of seated areas, terraces and open walkways, supporters with mobility needs should contact the club before travelling to confirm the best entrance, viewing area and any available assistance.
Assistance dogs are permitted only by prior arrangement. Away disabled supporters should be especially careful to check whether a fixture is segregated, because the away entrance and allocated viewing area can change depending on the match.
There does not appear to be a regular public stadium tour programme at Hornchurch Stadium. The venue is a working council-owned athletics and football stadium, and Hornchurch publish matchday and ticketing information rather than routine bookable tours.
Supporters interested in a group visit or specific access should contact Hornchurch directly. Given the club’s ongoing redevelopment planning, any special access is likely to be by arrangement rather than through a fixed public tour schedule.
