Stadium Overview

Hyde United play at Ewen Fields, currently known as the Project Solar Stadium. It is a traditional football ground with a capacity of around 4,250 and a strong old non-league feel, despite a number of improvements over the years.

The ground has several covered areas. The seated stand and covered terraces give supporters a range of viewing options, with the famous Shed terrace one of the more characterful parts of the stadium. Hyde's own stadium guide describes the Shed as a 13-step terrace with good views, although supporters are warned that a floodlight pylon can affect sightlines in places.

The Leigh Street Stand and other covered areas help make Ewen Fields feel more enclosed than many grounds at this level. It is a proper traditional stadium, close to the pitch and capable of producing a strong atmosphere when the crowd is up.

Away End

Away arrangements at Hyde United depend on the fixture. For ordinary league matches, segregation may not be in place and away fans can usually choose from the available spectator areas. For higher-profile fixtures, segregation can be used and away fans will be directed to a specific entrance and section.

There is no permanent away end that applies to every match in the way supporters might expect higher up the pyramid. Visiting supporters should check the match information issued by Hyde and their own club before travelling, especially for games against well-supported opposition.

If the match is unsegregated, away fans can enjoy one of the division's more traditional grounds and may choose between covered standing, seating and open areas. If segregation is in place, follow stewarding instructions and do not assume you can move freely around the stadium.

Matchday Advice

Ewen Fields is a strong ground for supporters who like traditional covered terracing. The Shed is one of the best-known viewing areas, but it is worth choosing your position carefully because some sightlines can be affected by the floodlight pylon. The proximity of the social club and refreshment points also shapes the matchday experience.

Hyde is a fairly accessible town-ground away day, but supporters should still allow time for parking and local traffic around the stadium. For bigger fixtures, arrive early because the covered areas can become popular quickly, especially in poor weather.

Neutral supporters should consider the seated stand if they want a more comfortable side-on view. Those who want atmosphere and a proper terrace feel may prefer the Shed or other covered standing areas, subject to whether any segregation is in operation.

Tickets

Hyde United ticketing is usually straightforward, with pay on the gate common for many league fixtures. The club may use online ticketing or special arrangements for selected games, cup ties or fixtures expected to attract larger crowds, so supporters should check the official match information before travelling.

Away supporters should check whether the match is segregated. If it is, buy the correct away ticket where required and use the away entrance or section identified by the clubs. If it is not, general admission should usually allow supporters to choose from the available areas of the ground.

For neutral supporters, seating offers the most conventional view, while the covered terraces provide the better traditional non-league experience. Arrive early if you want a particular covered position.

Stadium Rules

Ewen Fields operates standard football ground rules: no pyrotechnics, no pitch incursions, no throwing objects, no discriminatory or abusive behaviour, and no access to restricted areas. Supporters should follow stewarding instructions at all times.

Alcohol should only be consumed in licensed or permitted areas. If segregation is in use, supporters must remain in their allocated area and use the correct entrance. Supporters should also take care in older terrace areas and avoid standing where pillars or pylons restrict the view of others.

Accessibility

Ewen Fields is a traditional older stadium, so disabled supporters should contact Hyde United in advance for the latest advice on step-free access, wheelchair viewing areas, accessible toilets and parking. Some areas of the ground, particularly older terraces, may be less suitable for supporters with mobility issues.

Away disabled supporters should check whether segregation is in place and whether a specific entrance is required. If a suitable viewing area is needed, advance contact is recommended rather than waiting until arrival on the day.

Stadium Tours

Regular public stadium tours are not normally advertised at Hyde United. The Project Solar Stadium is a working non-league football ground, so supporters wanting behind-the-scenes access should contact the club directly rather than expecting stadium tours to be available on normal matchdays.
